Job summary

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company seeks a Manufacturing Engineer Senior to bridge design engineering and production in an advanced aerospace environment. You will shape processes, layouts, and integration strategies for tomorrow’s aircraft using automation and digital work instructions.

You will influence decisions with MB E methodologies, support design verification and V-Model compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement across the Skunk Works facility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Liaises between design engineering and production to develop and implement manufacturing processes and layouts.
  • Drives adoption of new technologies (automation, robotics, CAM software) to improve efficiency, cost and quality.
  • Creates and analyzes 3D model data to optimize manufacturing processes and digital work instructions.
  • Uses factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and analytics for continuous improvement.
  • Provides input to product design regarding concepts and manufacturing technique requirements.

As a Manufacturing Engineer in Skunk Works®, you will play a critical role as liaison between our design engineering teams and the production team responsible for building tomorrow's future in an advanced manufacturing and technology facility. Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement.   • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace, defense, or high-tech hardware.
  • Technical lead on design reviews, process improvement initiatives.
  • Understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model, requirements flow-down, and verification & validation (V&V) processes. Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance per business requirements Desired Skills Bacherlors Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree or coursework in Model-Based Engineering (MBE) or Systems Engineering. 5-8 years of professional experience Influencing decisions without formal authority
  • Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
