Job summary

Office of Shared Administration (WV) seeks a Child Welfare Permanency Worker to support adoption services within the child welfare system. The role focuses on finding permanent, loving homes for children and coordinating with courts, social workers, and legal professionals. Travel and after-hours availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• No prior work experience required.
• Valid WV driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Willingness to travel statewide and to work after-hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Attend ongoing training to learn State and Federal social welfare laws and protocols.
• Conduct interviews to identify safe, permanent placement options for children.
• Assess eligible placement candidates using established guidelines.
• Act as liaison between the agency and the court system to ensure proper policies are followed.
• Develop and maintain communication with professionals across social work, medical and judicial fields.
• Attend court hearings and testify on behalf of the department.
