Job summary

Lancaster County Children and Youth Social Service Agency is seeking a Caseworker in the Permanency unit. You will perform adoption preparation, coordinate resources, and ensure safety planning for children in foster care.

Responsibilities include conducting home studies, preparing court filings, and collaborating with SWAN and outside agencies to find adoptive resources. Travel to placements and ongoing training are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a social welfare major or 12 related credits plus experience.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills are required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and ability to travel.
• Knowledge of PA Juvenile Act, DPW regs, and adoption processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare court petitions for adoptions not finalized.
• Coordinate services through SWAN and outside agencies.
• Perform home visits to assess safety and placement suitability.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure DPW audit readiness.
• Attend trainings totaling at least 20 hours per year.
• Facilitate adoption matching and subsidy requests as needed.
• Conduct home studies and finalize adoption records.
