Job summary

Franklin County Government seeks a dedicated Social Worker to provide permanency planning and adoption services for children in agency custody. The role includes developing permanent plans, coordinating with courts and other agencies, and recruiting families for adoption.

Strong collaboration with attorneys, judges, and caseworkers is essential. Requirements include an MSW or related degree; experience in child welfare and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in social work or related field required.
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related field with experience considered.
  • Completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative for relevant roles.
  • Direct social work experience in child welfare preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide permanency planning and adoption services for children in agency custody.
  • Develop and implement permanent plans, including adoption or reunification.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, GALs, and court officials for permanency reviews.
  • Recruit and train families for adoptive placement and coordinate with partner agencies.
