Bethany Christian Services in Southfield, MI seeks a Foster Care Adoption Specialist to assess families, coordinate adoption planning, and guide children toward permanent homes.

You will work with DHS, educators, and community partners, attending court hearings and providing post-placement support. A bachelor’s in human services is required; a master’s is a plus. Some evenings/weekends may be required.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or equivalent field of study from an accredited college.
• Master’s degree in Human Services or equivalent field of study from an accredited college, a plus.
• At least one year experience in a child welfare agency.
• Experience with MiSACWIS database is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to engage, develop, and maintain positive community relationships.

Responsabilidades

• Provide thorough assessments for pre-adoptive children and families.
• Conduct adoptive planning and prepare families for adoption.
• Coordinate pre-adoptive planning with foster care workers and DHS referral sources.
• Prepare children and families for adoption and conduct pre-adoptive visitation.
• Attend required court hearings and participate in ongoing case reviews.
• Meet regularly with supervisor to review case plans and progress.
• Promote Bethany's adoption services within the community.
