Bethany Christian Services in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Foster Care Adoption Specialist to advance our mission of safe, loving families. The role involves assessments, planning, and coordinating pre-adoptive processes, working with foster and adoptive families and DHS referrals, and representing the agency in court hearings as needed.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Human Services (Master's preferred), 2+ years of adoption experience, and supervisory experience for Lead FCA Specialist.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field required; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of adoption experience in child welfare is preferred.
• Experience supervising others is a plus for Lead FCA Specialist.
• Ability to engage with diverse communities and maintain relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficient with Office apps.

Responsabilités

• Provide thorough assessments for pre-adoptive children and families.
• Coordinate pre-adoptive planning with foster care workers and DHS referrals.
• Prepare children and families for adoption and conduct visits with approved families.
• Attend required court hearings and supervise case progress with supervisor.
• Promote Bethany’s adoption services within the community and manage time for reports.
