Job summary

Holt International seeks a part-time Adoption Social Worker to support permanent, loving families for children at risk of separation. The role is primarily home-based with travel throughout the assigned area, often by car, and requires coordinating with the Branch Office and Eugene teams.

The Master’s level social worker will conduct assessments, provide adoption services, and ensure compliant documentation while maintaining the child’s welfare in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work; five years experience in a social service setting; state license where applicable.
• Ability to conduct psycho-social assessments and develop adoption-related plans.
• Excellent writing and computer skills; strong interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Determine a family’s ability to parent an adopted child through home studies and psycho-social assessments.
• Produce adoption home studies and post-placement reports adhering to guidelines and USCIS requirements.
• Provide case management and quarterly contacts with families; refer to community resources as needed.
• Prepare families for travel; conduct home visits and support post-placement adjustments.
• Provide counseling for children and families; manage adoption disruptions and transitions.
• Participate in Holt activities to support public awareness and outreach projects.
• Keep up with regulations, adoption issues, and training requirements; maintain licenses as required.
• Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and teamwork across branches and Eugene office.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all communications and processes.
