You will work with the public through the adoption process, coordinate transfers, and educate families on animal needs. This role involves hands-on animal care, kennels, and collaborating with rescue groups.

Strong customer service, driving license, and attention to safety are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience in rescue coordination and animal behavior or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid TX Driver's License or available alternate means of transportation.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background investigation

Responsibilities

• Greet shelter visitors, volunteers, and potential adopters and handle office duties.
• Answer phones and support front office when staff away.
• Guide applicants through the adoption process from application to final adoption.
• Coordinate introductions between animals and prospective families.
• Educate adoptive families on animal needs and training options.
• Provide customer service for reclaiming, relinquishing, or finding pets.
• Develop relationships with rescue groups to expand placements beyond in-house adoptions.
• Inspect kennels for code compliance.
• Care for animals: feeding, monitoring, vaccinations, and basic care with vet assistance.
