Job summary

County of Lancaster is seeking a Caseworker in the Permanency department to support adoption preparation for children in agency foster care and finalize adoptions with resource families. Qualifications

• Six months of experience as a Caseworker Trainee; or completion of County Social Caseworker Intern Program; or a bachelor’s degree with a social welfare major; or a bachelor’s degree with 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, or related fields and one year of professional social casework; or any equivalent combination of experiences and training including 12 college credits in related social sciences.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of children and timely, accurate assessments with referrals as needed.
• Complete NTI training to understand adoption issues and work with adoptees, adoptive parents, and professionals.
• Maintain quality records and ensure documentation passes DPW audit.
• Coordinate services for children through SWAN and partner agencies.
• Attend trainings to total at least 20 hours per year.
