Job summary

Catholic Charities Washtenaw County is seeking an Adoption Case Manager to coordinate newborn adoption services for prospective families and members of the adoption circle. The role involves family assessments, education, matching, legal coordination, and post-placement support.

Ideal candidates have adoption experience and a solid understanding of open adoption and trauma-informed care, with strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work; Master’s degree preferred.
• LBSW credential required; LMSW preferred.
• Adoption experience strongly preferred.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate newborn adoption services for prospective families and the adoption circle.
• Conduct home studies, updates, and adoptive parent education programs.
• Facilitate matching and placement activities and prepare adoption-related reports.
• Coordinate court proceedings and provide ongoing post-placement support.
• Collaborate with hospitals, attorneys, courts, and community partners.
