Job summary

The Canyons Post-Acute in Colton, CA is hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) with RN supervisory experience to lead nursing services and ensure high-quality care in a regulated Skilled Nursing Facility.

Under the DON’s guidance, you will help plan, organize, and direct day-to-day operations, maintain compliance, and contribute to the facility’s discharge planning and QA programs. This role emphasizes leadership, policy interpretation, and resident-focused care.

Qualifications

• RN License in good standing in California.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an RN Supervisor or ADON in a Skilled Nursing or Long-Term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DON with all Nursing Department services while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Interpret policies and procedures to all parties involved.
• Ensure that the reference material maintained at the nurses’ stations is current and reflects day-to-day nursing care procedures.
• Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director as necessary/required.
• Assist in coordinating nursing services with other resident services for continuity of care.
• Participate in developing and maintaining the facility’s quality assurance program.
• Participate in facility surveys by government agencies.
• Develop and update discharge plans and plan of care with the IDT.
• Serve on committees and attend rounds to observe resident needs and implement action.
• Review accuracy of nurses’ resident notes and monitor med passes and treatment schedules.
