Job summary

Valley View Health and Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing and provide clinical leadership across the facility.

The role requires an RN license in good standing, with at least three years of nursing experience and one year in supervision, preferably in long-term care or geriatric settings. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for driving quality and safety.

Qualifications

• RN license required and in good standing
• Minimum of three years nursing experience
• At least one year supervisory or nursing leadership experience
• Experience in long-term care or geriatric population preferred
• Knowledge of nursing standards, clinical documentation, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements
• Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read reports, review documentation, and utilize clinical and operational data
• Ability to plan and direct nursing services while coordinating with other departments

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing with the management and oversight of the nursing department
• Support implementation of facility policies, nursing procedures, and regional standards
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing nursing services
• Monitor nursing documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
• Make daily rounds to direct staff and observe resident care, safety concerns, and operational issues
• Ensure nursing services align with resident needs and care plans
• Follow up on changes in resident condition and document appropriately
• Assist with Continuous Quality Improvement and QAPI initiatives
• Participate in corrective action planning and follow-up activities
• Complete chart audits and report findings and recommendations
• Promote infection prevention and control techniques
• Maintain effective communication with residents, families, staff, and leadership
• Provide guidance and development to licensed nurses and CNAs
• Assist with staff education, orientation, coaching, and performance monitoring
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to address resident care needs
• Foster a professional nursing culture centered on teamwork and continuous improvement
