Job summary

Elderwood at Ticonderoga is seeking a compassionate RN to serve as Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) and Educator. This full-time role pairs leadership with staff education to ensure high-quality resident care.

The ADON/Educator will support the DON in staffing, education, infection control, and regulatory compliance while promoting professional growth and a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing in state of work.
• Two years nursing experience as an RN; five years preferred.
• Minimum one year of supervisory experience.
• Experience in geriatric care; acute care preferred.
• BLS/CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience in nursing education and in-services is a plus.
• Proficient with computer applications and EMR.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support nursing department; assist DON with staffing and operations.
• Serve as DON in their absence under Administrator direction.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate nursing staff.
• Ensure 24-hour nursing coverage and compliance with policies.
• Develop and communicate nursing policies and procedures.
• Maintain compliance with nursing regulations and standards.
• Educate staff through orientation, in-services, and ongoing training.
• Oversee Nursing Assistant Training and supervise aides.
