Job summary

Elderwood at Ticonderoga is seeking a compassionate RN to serve as Assistant Director of Nursing and Educator. In this dual-role, you will support the DON in staffing, supervision, and infection control while leading staff development and education.

Qualifications

• RN with current state license in good standing
• Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience as an RN; five (5) years preferred
• Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience
• Minimum of one (1) year of geriatric nursing experience; acute care setting preferred
• BLS/CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience in nursing education, training and/or in-services desired
• Proficiency with computer applications and EMR
• On-call availability may be required
• BSN preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the nursing department; assist the DON in staffing and operations
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate nursing staff; ensure 24-hour nursing coverage
• Develop, implement and communicate nursing policies and procedures; ensure regulatory compliance
• Serve as Educator for nursing staff; oversee the Nursing Assistant Training Program
• Develop and evaluate educational programs for facility personnel
• Assess residents and monitor care needs; supervise admissions and coordination of Medicare services
• Monitor medications and treatment schedules; ensure a safe, clean environment
