Job summary

Laurel Park Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Elizabeth City, NC is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team. You will support clinical operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and help maintain high-quality resident care in our skilled nursing facility.

The ADON will mentor nursing staff, oversee daily nursing operations, participate in surveys and audits, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve resident outcomes.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina (required).
• Prior experience in skilled nursing or long-term care (required).
• Previous leadership or supervisory nursing experience (required).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily nursing operations.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
• Support and mentor nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
• Participate in staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and training.
• Monitor quality assurance, infection control, and patient safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident outcomes.
• Assist with surveys, audits, and corrective action plans.
