Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) in Ohio seeks an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide medical services to clients, including physical assessments and treatment of acute and minor illnesses, in Central Ohio. The role is on-site with a flexible schedule, one day per week.

The NP will perform assessments, diagnose health issues, prescribe and administer medicines, and coordinate exams with the consulting physician for each child.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in nursing required.
• RN licensure and board certification (ANCC or AANP) required.
• Prescription authority required.
• Experience working with adolescents preferred.
• Availability for on‑call phone consultations.
• Proficient use of common office software and devices.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical assessments on arrival and intake.
• Diagnose health issues and modify treatment plans as needed.
• Prescribe and administer medicines and treatments.
• Evaluate responses to treatments and order/interpret diagnostic tests.
• Coordinate examinations with consulting physicians for each child.
• Maintain medical documentation and record-keeping.
