Job summary

77 consultants seeks a Locum NP in Psychiatry for an on-site contract in Ohio. You will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental health conditions, develop treatment plans, and manage medications within post-acute and long-term care facilities.

The role involves 4 clinical days per week, 8-hour day shifts, no on-call requirement, and collaboration with psychiatrists and care coordinators, serving geriatric behavioral health and dementia patients.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing or a DNP from an accredited program.
• Board certification as a PMHNP.
• Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Ohio.
• Current DEA registration and prescribing authority.
• Experience providing psychiatric care across diverse patient populations.
• Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and evidence-based psychiatric treatment.
• Excellent clinical judgment, assessment, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients and families.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, on-site contract environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and mental health evaluations.
• Diagnose psychiatric conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring efficacy and side effects.
• Provide patient education on mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
• Conduct follow-up visits to assess patient progress and adjust treatment as needed.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient documentation in electronic health records.
• Assess patient risk, including suicidality and safety concerns, and respond appropriately.

This is a contract, on-site position offering an opportunity to provide high-quality psychiatric care within a dynamic healthcare setting.

As a Locum NP in Psychiatry, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with a range of mental health conditions, develop individualized treatment plans, and manage medication regimens. You will work closely with the medical team to ensure continuity of care and deliver compassionate, patient-centered services within the Medical Practice industry.

Daily Volume: 30 patients

Duties: Conduct patient rounds, assess patients, develop care plans, and review documentation

Support Staff: Psychiatrists and dedicated care coordinators

Must be board-certified
