Job summary

Catholic Guardian Services in Bronx, NY seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for Child & Adolescent care under a contract. You will conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnose conditions, and manage medications for youth in foster care and residential programs.

The role requires at least two years prescribing meds to youths, NY NP license in psychiatry, DEA registration, and the ability to work evenings and on-site across three Bronx locations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) required.
• Current NY State Nurse Practitioner license with psychiatric certification.
• DEA registration active in NY.
• Minimum 2 years prescribing psychiatric meds to children/adolescents.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnosis and med management skills.
• Experience with electronic health records and precise documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; team-oriented.
• Ability to work independently and with a multidisciplinary team.
• Evening hours and on-site availability at residential programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations for children/adolescents and annual assessments.
• Diagnose psychiatric/behavioral conditions and develop treatment plans.
• Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications; assess efficacy and side effects.
• Provide crisis assessments and appropriate level-of-care recommendations.
• Collaborate with clinicians, social workers, nurses, and foster care teams.
• Engage families and caregivers to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in EHRs within five business days.
• Participate in weekly supervision and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Ensure HIPAA/ACS/OCFS compliance and trauma-informed care across sites.
