Job summary

Ascent Behavioral Hospital in Utah seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (DNP/APRN) to provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing medical oversight for adolescents in a hospital setting. The role may be full-time with consideration for remote on-call admissions via phone.

You will collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and nursing staff to develop treatment plans, monitor response to therapy, and ensure compliant documentation in the EMR.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted APRN licensure in Utah
• DNP or MSN with APRN designation
• DEA registration (or eligibility)
• Prescriptive authority in Utah
• Strong clinical, interpersonal, and documentation skills
• CPR certification
• Ability to pass background checks

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and risk assessments.
• Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychotropic medications.
• Develop and adjust individualized medication treatment plans.
• Monitor medication efficacy and adverse effects.
• Collaborate with medical director, psychiatrists, therapists, and nursing staff.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and discharge planning.
• Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, risks and expectations.
• Ensure compliant documentation in the EMR.
• Respond to psychiatric emergencies and provide guidance during crises.
• Ensure compliance with policies and Joint Commission standards.
