Job summary

ilearn wellness group seeks an enthusiastic Mental Health Technician to support daytime program activities for adolescents in a new partial hospital setting. Work is on-site in Newton, MA, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday, contributing to therapeutic groups and milieu care.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, assist with discharge planning, documentation, and coordination with external providers to ensure continuity of care for patients ages 8–19.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling or related field is required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience with adolescent population is preferred.
• Experience in a mental health setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
• Ability to cover the following shifts: Monday to Friday, on-site, 9am-5:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, therapeutic, and engaging environment by direct care of patients in the milieu during the day.
• Support facilitation of group therapy and supervise appropriate use of technology and group dynamics.
• Coordinate with PCP, outpatient providers, and schools regarding treatment and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for discharge follow-up and continuity of care.
• Provide input on adolescents’ progress and readiness for transition to other care levels.
• Maintain documentation of patient observations and events.
• Assist with front-desk lobby duties and communicate with Intake Social Worker about attendance.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
