Job summary

Dover Behavioral Health System is seeking a Mental Health Technician for the Partial Programs to provide direct patient care for adolescents and adults with psychiatric disorders in an inpatient setting. The role supports daily operations, treatment activities, and safety within a 104-bed facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months’ work experience in a healthcare setting.
• Associates’ Degree and mental health work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe and monitor the safety of patients to maintain a therapeutic environment.
• Participate in treatment planning by identifying patients’ problems and needs.
• Assist in daily entry processes and orient new patients to the program.
• Ensure precaution protocols are followed and encourage program participation.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver group therapy programs for patients.
• Maintain patient, program and department documentation promptly and accurately.
• Assist patients with daily life activities and vital signs as needed.
• Carry out clerical tasks and answer program phones and doors.
• Transport patients or visitors safely to designated locations.
• Conduct safety inspections of vehicles used for transportation.
• Run errands and procure supplies as requested.
• Keep the program area and common spaces clean and orderly.
• Identify and report any abuse or neglect to the appropriate parties.
