Cape Fear Valley Health in Lillington, NC is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Technician for the Dorothea Dix Harnett Adolescent Psych Unit. The role focuses on patient observation, vital signs, ADL assistance, and implementing crisis intervention within a safe, therapeutic environment.

You will work with nurses, security and staff to support groups and educational initiatives, while maintaining patient dignity and rights.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates or Bachelors in Psychology/Social Work preferred.
• Nursing Assistant certification accepted.
• BLS certification required by American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care to promote safety and dignity in a therapeutic environment.
• Assists with admissions, including contraband search, room orientation, vital signs, and securing belongings.
• Assists with transfers and discharges, obtaining vital signs and gathering patient belongings.
• Obtains and monitors vital signs; reports abnormalities to nurse.
• Assists with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Assists with therapeutic holds, restraints, and seclusion as trained.
• Engages patients in play and group activities; reports findings to nurse.
• Participates in rounds, observation, documentation per nurse direction.
• Documents intake, output, and vital signs; supports therapeutic community meetings.
