Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in systems or solutions architecture

Responsibilities

• Define and evangelize system and cloud architecture strategy for AWS-based Linux environments

Adobe Commerce / Magento 2 - Systems Architect

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manager, Systems Architecture to define and lead the technical architecture for our global DTC commerce platforms. This role will own architecture strategy across AWS-based Linux environments, integrations with ERP/OMS/3PL and analytics platforms, API and event-driven design, database architecture, observability, and DevOps practices. The Manager will mentor and guide technical leads and engineers, collaborate with product and operations, and coordinate globally distributed teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions. Hands-on experience with Adobe Commerce (Magento 2) is a must-have.

This role sits at the center of our digital platform - collaborating across backend, frontend, integration, DevOps, and analytics teams to ensure cohesive, future-ready architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and evangelize system and cloud architecture strategy for AWS-based Linux environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Lead design and implementation of integrations with ERP, OMS, 3PL, analytics platforms, and third-party services to enable end-to-end commerce and operational workflows.
• Set standards and best practices for API and data architectures including REST, GraphQL, event-driven patterns, and ETL pipelines.
• Own database architecture decisions (relational and NoSQL), data modeling, partitioning, and performance tuning across services.
• Drive observability and monitoring strategy (metrics, logging, tracing) to ensure operational excellence and rapid incident response.
• Champion DevOps and infrastructure-as-code practices (CI/CD pipelines, Terraform/CloudFormation, containerization, Kubernetes) across engineering teams.
• Mentor technical leads and engineering managers; grow architecture capability and technical leadership across global onshore/offshore teams.
• Collaborate with product, security, and operations stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and roadmaps.
• Evaluate and select core platform technologies, third-party vendors, and commercial/open-source components.
• Manage technical debt, drive refactoring and platform consolidation where appropriate, and guide migration strategies for legacy systems.
• Represent architecture in cross-functional planning, provide technical risk assessments, and communicate architecture choices to executives and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in systems or solutions architecture and 3+ years leading technical teams or as an engineering manager or technical lead.
• AWS Solutions Architect certification strongly preferred.
• Proven experience designing and operating cloud-based solutions on AWS within Linux environments.
• Practical experience with Adobe Commerce (Magento 2) implementations, extensions, and architecture.
• Proficiency in backend languages and platforms such as PHP, Python, Java, and Node.js, and familiarity with modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue, Angular).
• Experience designing API-first systems: REST, GraphQL, and event-driven architectures; building and maintaining ETL/data pipelines.
• Strong background integrating and operating ERP, OMS, 3PL systems and analytics platforms in eCommerce or supply-chain contexts.
• Deep understanding of database architecture (MySQL/MariaDB, Redis,Elasticsearch/OpenSearch), indexing, scaling, and data governance.
• Experience implementing observability and monitoring stacks and applying them to production operations.
• Solid DevOps experience with CI/CD, containers, infrastructure-as-code, and automation tools.
• Experience working with globally distributed (onshore/offshore) teams and managing cross-cultural collaboration and delivery.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision‑making skills; ability to translate technical trade‑offs for business stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
