Job summary

Middlebury College’s Admissions office seeks a dynamic communications intern to develop a consistent online voice and engaging online presence. The role is flexible, supports the team, and entails 5-8 hours per week.

The position is compensated at $14.95 per hour (Level B). Responsibilities include creating digital content, managing the admitted students’ Instagram, and analyzing engagement data with guidance from staff.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with social media platforms.
• Experience in video/photography and basic graphic design is preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential materials.

Responsibilities

• Work with the communications team within the Admissions office to strategize, coordinate, and execute communications.
• Produce digital content (photos, video, text) that enhances affinity for and knowledge of Middlebury, shares community success, and highlights the student experience.
• Manage the Instagram account for admitted students from December through May, including creating posts, producing engaging content, and monitoring engagement.
• Attend campus and community events to be featured in admissions social content (occasional outside standard hours).
• Compile, process, and evaluate analytics from Admissions’ social media.
• Must handle confidential materials with discretion.
• Assist with additional duties as they arise.
