Job summary

Universal Health Services, a leading healthcare provider, seeks an Intake RN to perform telephonic and in-person risk assessments to help physicians determine the appropriate level of care for potential patients. You will coordinate referrals, admissions, and maintain ongoing communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
• Current Missouri RN license required.
• 2–3 years in substance abuse/psychiatric treatment programs.
• CPR certification and Handle with Care and Verbal De-Escalation training within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephonic and in-person risk assessment to assist physicians in identifying appropriate level of care.
• Coordinate referral and intake process and facilitate admission.
• Maintain communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff.
• Collaborate with Business Office on patient financial data, verification, and insurance pre-authorization.
