Job summary

San Jose Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join the Admissions team. The RN will manage the admissions process, verify information, and coordinate with medical staff to ensure safe and timely patient placement.

The role requires an Associate's degree in Nursing, an active California nursing license, CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification, and prior clinical experience. Night and evening shifts are available, with weekend PRN coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

• Review medical documentation for admissions and reconcile medications.
• Facilitate emergency transfers when needed.
• Assess referrals for acuity and determine appropriate level of care.
• Coordinate admissions, including consent and inventory of belongings.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain pre-authorization.
• Monitor patient status and communicate dispositions to families.
