Job summary

Glen Oaks Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, Inc., seeks a Registered Nurse in Greenville, Texas, to manage admission processes and coordinate with referral sources, families, payors, and hospital staff. The role requires RN licensure in Texas and preferred 1–3 years of psychiatric care experience.

Work hours are 7am–7pm, three days per week, with rotating weekends. CPR certification and Handle with Care/Verbal De-escalation training are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited RN program.
• 1–3 years of psychiatric health care experience preferred.
• Texas RN licensure in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Process inquiry and referral calls in a timely manner.
• Coordinate admissions processes and liaise with referral sources, families, payors, physicians, and staff.
• Verify insurance and complete admissions paperwork with patient; staff appropriately.
• Triage patients and communicate with unit staff to assist patient transfer to unit.
• Pre-cert with payor source and follow hospital policies for admissions.

Position Summary:

Responsible for the timely processing of inquiry and referral calls. Responsible for coordination of all admissions processes and serves as liaison to referral sources, families, payors, physicians, unit and hospital personnel involved with each admission. Verify insurance, triage patients, complete assessments, ability to staff clinical effectively, enter calls and admissions in computer and complete all admission paperwork with patient. Effectively communicate with unit staff and assist patient to unit. Pre-cert with payor source. Follow hospital’s policies and procedures regarding admissions.

Position Hours:

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited RN program; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: 1-3 years of experience preferred in psychiatric health care. Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field.

Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.

Additional Requirements: CPR certification and successful completion of Handle with Care, Verbal De-escalation, and CPR prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
