Job summary

North Port Behavioral Health, a premier inpatient psychiatric hospital in North Port, FL, is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care for behavioral health and substance misuse patients. The role includes admissions support, med administration, and ongoing patient assessments within a 144-bed facility.

The position offers 12-hour night shifts, strong benefits, and opportunities for psychiatric training. A current Florida RN license and CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Associate’s degree in Nursing.
• Minimum one year of experience in a clinical or observational capacity.
• Clear and active nursing license in the state.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required.
• First aid may be required depending on state or facility.

Responsibilities

• Review admissions documentation and obtain admission orders.
• Perform medication administration and nursing assessments.
• Complete nursing shift reports and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with medical and psychiatric staff for patient admissions and care.
• Monitor patient safety and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Prepare and maintain medical records for authorization and payor requirements.
