Job summary

Dimock Center is hiring an Admissions Registered Nurse (RN) to manage patient admissions for Acute Treatment Services. The role focuses on efficient admissions, accurate assessments, regulatory compliance, and interdepartmental coordination during peak hours.

The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, document thoroughly, and coordinate with providers, admissions, and behavioral health staff to ensure safe patient placement and timely transfers.

Qualifications

• Current MA RN license in good standing is required.
• Experience with detoxification, behavioral health, or emergency nursing is preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive nursing admission assessments.
• Review referral information and medical charts for ATS admission.
• Collaborate with admissions, providers, and clinical staff for acceptance decisions.
• Obtain and document medical histories and reconciled home medications.
• Verify allergies and current medication regimens.
• Complete withdrawal assessments (CIWA-Ar, COWS) as indicated.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation in the EMR.
• Coordinate admissions from hospitals, EDs, shelters, and community providers.
• Administer medications per orders and monitor for adverse effects.
