Canyon Creek Behavioral is open and serving the behavioral health needs of adolescents and adults in Temple, Texas and all surrounding areas of Central Texas. Our behavioral health center will provide treatment options for individuals struggling with psychiatric health, chemical dependency and mood disorders such as anxiety and depression.
Canyon Creek Behavioral Health is a 102-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in the beautiful Central Texas town of Temple, Texas. Canyon Creek features individual units for adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care and intensive outpatient programs. POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the timely processing of inquiry and referral calls. Responsible for coordination of all admissions processes and serves as liaison to referral sources, families, payors, physicians, unit and hospital personnel involved with each admission. Verify insurance, triage patients, complete assessments, ability to staff clinical effectively, enter calls and admissions in computer and complete all admission paperwork with patient. Effectively communicate with unit staff and assist patient to unit. Pre-cert with payor source. Follow hospital’s policies and procedures regarding admissions.
RN - Admissions Requirements:
Required: Graduate of accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor Degree;
Preferred: Master's Degree
Required: Minimum of one (1) years in the area of substance abuse/psychiatric treatment programs,
Preferred: Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in psychiatric treatment; previous experience in intake/admissions and managed care. Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field.
Required: Registered Nurse with active license and able to work in the state of Texas.
Additional Requirements: CPR certification, Handle with Care and Verbal De-Escalation training within 30 days of employment prior to assisting in a restraining procedure. Training will be offered during new hire orientation. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
