Job summary

HealingUS Centers in New Jersey is seeking an Admissions Representative to promote our behavioral health services and guide prospective clients through the intake process. You will work with the admissions team to ensure a seamless process and coordinate with referral sources.

This role requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and accurate records.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in behavioral healthcare admissions or related field.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral healthcare services, including mental health and substance abuse treatment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs) and other software systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries from potential clients, family members, and referral sources regarding services and programs.
  • Provide information and education about services, treatment options, programs, and amenities.
  • Assess potential clients' needs and determine eligibility for admission.
  • Complete comprehensive intake assessments and gather necessary information.
  • Facilitate the intake process, including scheduling appointments and conducting interviews (phone/video).
  • Coordinate with the treatment team to ensure a smooth transition into treatment.
  • Collaborate with billing company to verify coverage and benefits.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of interactions with clients and referrals.
  • Identify barriers to admission (financial/insurance) and address them.
  • Develop relationships with referral sources (hospitals, clinics, providers).
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in behavioral healthcare.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

This individual will act as a liaison between the facility and the community, providing education, support, and guidance to individuals seeking treatment. The Admissions Representative will work closely with the admissions team to ensure a seamless and efficient intake process.

Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive intake assessments and gather necessary information to support the admissions process

  • Coordinate with the treatment team to ensure a smooth transition into treatment
  • Collaborate with billing company to verify coverage and benefits
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions with potential clients and referral sources
  • Identify and address potential barriers to admission, such as financial or insurance issues
  • Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources, including hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare providers
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in behavioral healthcare
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills
Requirements
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in behavioral healthcare admissions or a related field
  • Strong understanding of behavioral healthcare services, including mental health and substance abuse treatment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs) and other software systems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling)
  • Experience working in a behavioral healthcare facility or similar setting
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills
