Qualifications

  • RN license in Florida is required.
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience; psychiatric nursing preferred.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Able to attend hospital and departmental orientations: Week 1: M-F 8 AM - 5 PM / Week 2: M & Tu 9 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities

  • Perform intake and admission processing.
  • Handle inquiry calls efficiently and communicate with referral sources.
  • Provide hospital and program information to individuals, agencies, facilities, and professionals.
  • Make outside referrals when appropriate.
  • Assess and triage an individual’s mental health status.
  • Make patient safety and level of care recommendations to the CFBH physician.
  • Identify insurance benefits and pre-certification of patient care.
  • Complete all admission requirements.
  • Document all necessary information in Med Series 4.
  • Communicate patient safety concerns to unit nursing staff.
  • Coordinate admissions with unit staff and Physician.
  • Follow EMTALA regulations and identify high risk individuals presenting for emergency care

Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 174-bed, private psychiatric center located in Orlando, FL. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services.

Position Summary

Responsible for being able to perform all aspects of Central Florida Behavioral Hospital’s intake and admission process, including efficient and effective handling of inquiry calls, knowledge of and communication with referral sources; providing hospital and program information to individuals, agencies, facilities, and professionals; making outside referrals, when appropriate; assessing and triaging an individual’s mental health status; making patient safety and level of care recommendations to the CFBH physician; identifying insurance benefits, pre-certification of patient care; completing all admission requirements; communicating patient safety concerns and pertinent patient information to unit nursing staff and documenting all necessary information in Med Series 4.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required.
  • Minimum One (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse required. Six (6) months expereince in psychiatric nursing preferred.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Florida required.
  • Current CPR Certification required (Can be obtainted upon hire)
  • Knowledge of current nursing procedures
  • Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations: Week 1: M-F 8 AM - 5 PM / Week 2: M & Tu 9 AM - 5 PM
