Job summary

Central Florida Behavioral Hospital in Orlando, FL seeks a Registered Nurse to manage the intake and admission process, handle inquiry calls, and provide hospital information to individuals, agencies, and professionals.

You will assess mental health status, triage level of care with the CFBH physician, verify insurance benefits, pre-certify care, and document all required information in Med Series 4, while ensuring EMTALA compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (required).
• Minimum one year experience as a registered nurse (required). Six months experience in psychiatric nursing preferred.
• Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in the state of Florida (required).
• Current CPR certification required (can be obtained upon hire).
• Knowledge of current nursing procedures.
• Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations: Week 1 M‑F 8 AM – 5 PM / Week 2 M & Tu 9 AM – 5 PM.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 174‑bed, private psychiatric center located in Orlando, FL. The hospital provides 24‑hour emergency services. Central Florida Behavioral Hospital offers a full continuum of care including inpatient treatment services for children, adolescents and adults; and partial hospitalization, intensive out‑patient and ECT services for adults. Position Summary

Responsible for performing all aspects of Central Florida Behavioral Hospital’s intake and admission process, including efficient and effective handling of inquiry calls, communication with referral sources, providing hospital and program information to individuals, agencies, facilities, and professionals, making outside referrals when appropriate, assessing and triaging an individual’s mental health status, making patient safety and level of care recommendations to the CFBH physician, identifying insurance benefits, pre‑certifying patient care, completing all admission requirements, and communicating patient safety concerns and pertinent patient information to unit nursing staff while documenting all necessary information in Med Series 4.
