Job Corps Admissions Recruiter position available to assist in recruitment, admissions and enrollment of youth into the Job Corps Program. You will collaborate with local and regional partners to meet contractual goals and support center activities.

The role requires strong outreach skills, excellent communication, and meticulous documentation per PRH guidelines; a valid driver’s license is required to access transportation for outreach events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or related field; or an Associate’s with two years’ related experience.
  • 1 year experience working with youth, sales, marketing, or counseling related services.

Responsibilities

  • Meet contractual OA goals and ensure 100% ratings for the appraisal period.
  • Maintain relationships with local and regional partners and employment/training organizations.
  • Coordinate interviews, job fairs, and career days to support student placement and success.
  • Maintain a caseload of active students with bi-weekly/monthly contact by phone.
  • Verify eligibility in accordance with PRH guidelines and support OMS/OBS center measures.

Salary Range: $45,000.00 To $45,000.00 Annually

SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION:

Assists in the recruitment, admissions and enrollment of youth into the Job Corps Program.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that the OA contractual goal is met during the appraisal period and ensures individual OA ratings are at or above 100% for the appraisal period
    • Develops and maintains a relationship with all local and regional WIA partners and other employment and training organizations, placement agencies, etc.
  • Ensures that a corrective action plan is in place to meet any and all measures that are below 100%.
    • Maintains liaisons with employers, labor unions, state employment service offices, and Job Corps’ placement and support agencies/contractors to facilitate the on-going and continuous placement of students.
  • Attends and actively participates in OMS meetings and ensures 100% overall according to the monthly OAOMS report card and actively participate in committees and provide support to center functions and activities.
    • Conducts interviews with students entering the Career Transition Phase and provides further focus on job search techniques.
  • Ensure that the Area Marketing Plan for each county is developed and maintained on the AMP spreadsheet and ensure that the One-Stop Centers have a plan for ensuring Job Corps presence, updated materials and that there is a plan for target recruitment (females, ELL, etc.).
    • Creates and maintains a caseload of active students and maintains bi-weekly and monthly contact by telephone.
  • Work closely with Center Staff on outreach activities and center functions such as the CWC and CRC
    • Coordinates mock interview sessions, job fairs and career days.
  • Must access, verify and document applicant eligibility in strict accordance with the PRH guidelines and ensure the support of all on center measures in regard to OMS and is fully supporting Center’s OBS capacity and student employee retention.
    • Identifies support services needed for relocation; arranges transportation; makes referrals to support services agencies.
  • Adhere to the PRH requirements and maintain integrity in all their work to meet the standards of the ROCA, COCA and OIG.
    • Initiates contact with former enrollee students prior to their separation from the Center.
  • Responsible to ensure that the S/E feel that they were provided with specific and accurate information regarding the Center prior to arrival and act S/E mentor, ensuring that assigned S/Es are making progress and receive necessary support to be successful in the program.
  • Models appropriate behaviors, mentors students and monitors both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Meticulous documentation/recording skills and attention to detail; excellent time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others in a wide variety of circumstances related to student services
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical skills in interpreting data related to student programming
  • Computer literate with emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field; or
  • Associate’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field, and two years related experience. Experience may include successful Job Corps outreach and admissions experience or successful outreach and admissions experience with other youth development programs.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 year experience in working with youth, sales, marketing, or counseling related services

OTHER:

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
