Job summary

South University is seeking an Admissions Representative to recruit qualified applicants and guide them through the admissions process. You will handle high volumes of inquiries, schedule interviews, and work with Student Support Services to ensure successful matriculation.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree or an associate’s with experience in admissions or sales, strong communication, and ethical, goal-oriented work habits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field and one year of successful admissions or sales experience.
• Or associate’s degree and three years of successful admissions or sales experience.
• Salary level will be based on degree level.
• Sincere interest in helping others achieve life goals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with both faculty and student populations.
• Superior organizational and problem-resolution skills.
• Goal-oriented and highly ethical.
• Strong expertise with MS Office as well as field-related hardware and software packages and systems for reporting features.
• Ability to interact effectively as either a leader or a team member and work collaboratively with other departments.
• Ability to listen to customers and to understand and respond positively to their requests.
• Ability to adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Explain educational programs, outcomes, student services, and financial considerations to students, parents, and educators.
• Manage inquiries to achieve prompt contact and meet weekly performance goals; use approved recruitment policies/formats.
• Secure new inquiries by directly asking for referrals of others who may be interested.
• Schedule and conduct interviews, pursue qualified candidates for enrollment, and assess eligibility.
• Forecast projected new students periodically for admissions leadership.
• Conduct follow-up meetings monthly with all applicants to ensure matriculation.
• Assist other personnel and departments with data collection and problem-solving.
• Participate in recruitment/enrollment activities, including open houses, regional presentations, training, orientation, career days, and partnerships.
• Other duties as assigned.
