Qualifications

• PA LPN or RN license required.
• Minimum of two years of skilled nursing experience.
• At least two years of admissions, insurance authorizations, and clinical reviews in a skilled nursing facility.
• Experience as Admissions Nurse or related roles preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and insurance authorization processes.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple referrals.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, case managers, physicians, social workers, and referral sources in the Scranton market.
• Review referrals to determine clinical appropriateness for admission.
• Obtain and manage insurance authorizations for incoming admissions.
• Coordinate admissions with facility leadership to ensure smooth resident transitions.
• Collaborate with the Administrator, Director of Nursing, Business Office, and Admissions teams.
• Educate referral partners on facility services and capabilities.
• Attend networking events and community outreach opportunities to strengthen referral relationships.
• Monitor referral activity and help develop strategies to increase admissions and census growth.
