Job summary

Reo Vista Healthcare Center is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk to support the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse in recording and charting medical and administrative information. You will maintain census data, keep resident rosters current, and process charge slips and communications daily.

The role requires strong communication and customer service skills, accuracy in transcribing orders, and adherence to charting policies in accordance with regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret medical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Record medical and administrative information in accordance with charting and documentation policies.
• Maintain the Daily Census Report and submit to Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
• Maintain an up-to-date roster of residents for your unit.
• Fill out resident charge slips and submit to the Business Office.
• Answer telephone, page calls, and deliver messages to residents as necessary.
• Maintain a current listing of emergency phone numbers for your unit.
• Record appropriate resident identification data on designated records.
• Transcribe physicians' orders to care plans and medication cards.
• Review medication cards for completeness and transcription accuracy.
• Chart nurses' notes reflecting care provided and resident response.
