Job summary

UI Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a Revenue Cycle liaison to coordinate between patients, healthcare providers, billing, and insurers. You will verify insurance coverage, determine patient financial liability, collect cost-sharing, and prepare authorizations in the EHR system for admissions or outpatient services.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least one year of medical setting experience, with preferred Epic Systems knowledge and insurance preauthorization experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year (12 months) of work experience in a medical setting (office administration, billing, collections, patient services, or related).
• One year (12 months) of work experience in medical settings obtaining preauthorization from medical insurance.

Responsibilities

• Determines if patient is eligible for intended care at UI Health.
• Secures patient authorizations and financial clearance in the pre-access workflows.
• Maintains assigned workqueues and expected lead times.
• Keeps up to date with policies and payer requirements; maintains competence and knowledge.
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
