Elmhurst Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking an Admissions Director for a full-time position in Rhode Island. The role oversees the entire admissions process, conducts tours, assesses needs, and coordinates with providers to ensure a smooth move-in and compliant recordkeeping.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential to engage families with empathy and professionalism and to support census goals within a caring community.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in admissions, marketing, or similar role in a healthcare setting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with empathy and professionalism.
• Ability to build relationships and guide families through decision-making.
• Ability to work flexible hours given admissions responsibilities.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and priority management.

Responsibilities for Admissions Director:

• Oversee and manage the entire admissions process from initial inquiry through resident move‑in, ensuring a seamless and compassionate experience for prospective residents and their families.

• Conduct engaging and informative tours for prospective residents and families, clearly communicating our services, care options, and community environment.

• Assess the needs of potential residents to ensure appropriate placement and a strong fit within the community, prioritizing safety, well‑being, and quality of care.

• Coordinate closely with healthcare providers, social workers, and family members to gather necessary documentation and ensure a smooth and timely admissions process.

• Maintain accurate, organized resident records in full compliance with state regulations, federal guidelines, and privacy laws.

• Lead admissions efforts with a focus on responsiveness, relationship‑building, and maintaining strong community partnerships to support census goals.

• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure a smooth transition for new residents and a positive first experience within the community.

Qualifications for Admissions Director:

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Admissions, Marketing, or a similar role within a healthcare setting.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to engage families with empathy and professionalism.

• Demonstrated ability to build relationships, manage sensitive conversations, and guide families through decision‑making processes.

• Ability to work flexible hours, as admissions and marketing responsibilities may require.

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
