Job summary

The Admissions Counselor at the University of Pennsylvania supports recruitment, evaluation, and enrollment for Penn’s undergraduate programs. You’ll speak at forums with prospective students and families, manage inquiries by phone and email, and collaborate with the Enrollment Team to review applications from a defined region.

This role requires a BA and 1–2 years of experience, strong project management, and excellent written and oral communication.

Qualifications

  • A BA and 1–2 years of experience required.
  • Ability to manage multiple calendars in a high-volume process.
  • Strong written communication and public speaking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the annual comprehensive evaluation and selection process for both first-year and transfer students.
  • Support office-wide programs and projects, as assigned, to support the work of Penn Admissions.
  • Frequently support the Admissions Visit Center and Client Care in daily staffing, welcoming visitors, supporting daily virtual or in-person programming, and handling inquiries via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Manage a geographic territory to identify, recruit, and yield candidates. Lead a variety of virtual and in-person recruitment activities, including evening and/or weekend programs, school visits, college fairs, and regional alumni programs. Engage in 1-3 weeks of recruitment travel.
