Job description

Position Summary

The Main Campus Admissions Counselor has the primary responsibility for representing Post University at various recruitment events, high school visits, and classroom presentations throughout the year, and for assisting prospective students throughout the enrollment process. An additional priority is developing and fostering good relationships with High School and Community College teachers, administrators, prospective students, and their parents in an assigned geographic area. Responsibilities include but are not limited to attending high school visits, college fairs, and on- and off-campus events, generating and collecting quality leads from prospective students, and inputting and maintaining clean data in the recruitment database. Extensive evenings, weekends, and overnight travel are required in this role. The position also requires the candidate to conduct professional information sessions with School Counselors, Transfer Coordinators, prospective students, and their families for the benefit of the university. This position is responsible for building and maintaining a travel schedule that includes attending college fairs, high school visits, instant decision events, and other high school and community engagement programs to increase awareness about Post University within their assigned territory. The priority functions will be conducting presentations and recruiting new students. As such, the ideal candidate will manage an assigned territory, participate in meetings and events on and off campus, manage student files, and succeed in a metrics-driven setting.

Essential Accountabilities
  • Understand and communicate the values of a Post University education.
  • Generate quality leads from prospective students.
  • Create and execute an extensive travel schedule within their assigned territory, including up to 150high school visits, college fairs, instant decision programs, college nights, and other regional and national college fairs and conferences.
  • Professionally represent Post University within assigned territory.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of on-campus and off-campus events.
  • Develop relationships with high school counselors and transfer coordinators and identify opportunities for outreach and promotion of Post University's programs and initiatives within assigned territory.
  • Perform presentations to prospective students and their families.
  • Extensive travel includes frequent evenings, weekends, and overnight stays.
  • Conduct Professional College Advisory Sessions (PCAS) via telephone and occasionally face-to-face with the intentof helpingprospective studentsidentifytheir interests and choose a Degree Program that fits each student’s personal and career goals.
  • Promptly respond to student inquiries regarding Post University and our program offerings.
  • Data entry of student enrollment information to ensurecompleteand properdocumentation.
  • Follow up with prospective students/applicants and record results in the database to ensure excellent customer service throughout enrollment.
  • Work collaboratively with Financial Aid, Advising, and other departments to assist students with financing and advising needs.
  • Participate in student registration and development activities to promote student awareness, retention, and success.
  • Meet/ exceed established team and individual enrollment goals.
  • Participate in weekly team and floor-wide meetings to address best sales practices and strategies.
  • Must be a self-starter and can achieve established results and goals with minimal supervision.
  • Possesses knowledge of all applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • One to two years related experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. (Post University uses MVR reports as part of the pre-boarding process.)
  • Must have excellent PC skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office, Internet applications, and database software.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to work in a team-oriented , focused environment.

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 9-5, with some nights and weekends
