E​astern Kentucky University seeks an Admissions Counselor to recruit qualified undergraduate students in and out of state. The role builds relationships with counselors, students, and families to guide them through the college search process.

The counselor will manage a territory via a CRM, maintain contact with inquiries, applicants, and admitted students, and represent EKU at college fairs and recruitment events across multiple platforms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree preferred.
  • One year of related work experience is required.
  • Previous experience as an Admissions Counselor is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and recruit undergraduate students to EKU across assigned territory.
  • Counsel prospective students and families regarding admissions and enrollment processes.
  • Develop and coordinate recruitment strategies and support key initiatives in designated regions.
  • Collaborate with other university departments and perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Summary/Basic Functions

This Admissions Counselor position is responsible for recruitingqualified undergraduate in-of-state and out-state students to theUniversity by developing and implementing data-driven strategies,conducting market analysis, and using predictive modeling to guideoutreach. This role serves as a primary liaison to schoolcounselors and community organizations while building strongrelationships with prospective students and their familiesthroughout the college search process. The counselor manages anassigned territory through a Client Relationship Management (CRM)system, ensuring consistent follow-up with inquiries, applicants,and admitted students. Communication takes place across multipleplatforms, including phone, email, written correspondence, socialmedia, and presentations. The position also involves traveling tocollege fairs at the state, regional, and national levels, visitinghigh schools in designated markets, and participating inUniversity-hosted recruitment events.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree is required. Master'spreferred.

Experience: One year of related work experience isrequired.

Previous experience as an Admissions Counselor is preferred.

Licensure & Certifications: Valid statedriver's license is required.
