Job summary

Belmont Abbey College invites applications for the position of Admissions Counselor. This full-time, twelve-month role focuses on guiding prospective students and families through the enrollment journey and developing an effective applicant pool.

The Admissions Counselor will manage recruitment programs, travel, and communications with prospects on a weekly basis, assist the Director of Admissions, and participate in on-campus recruitment events as part of the college’s enrollment strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a preferred 1 year of experience in an Admissions office or college campus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Desire to learn TargetX SalesForce and the SIS is required.
  • Public speaking ability is required.
  • Office environment may require odd shifts and travel up to 50% by air or car; lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

We are seeking an enthusiastic relationship‑builder who is passionate about Catholic higher education and dedicated to guiding prospective students and their families through the enrollment journey. The successful candidate for this full‑time, twelve‑month position manages, plans, coordinates, and participates in all recruitment programs and related activities for the purpose of providing the College with a representative applicant pool to achieve enrollment objectives. The Admissions Counselor assists the Director of Admissions in the day‑to‑day responsibilities of the Admissions office and contributes to the vision and outreach strategies of the office in conjunction with the College’s vision and strategic plan. The Admissions Counselor manages their assigned group of prospective students, travel budgets, and travel arrangements. The Admissions Counselor manages communication with prospective students on a weekly basis and throughout the enrollment cycle. The Admissions Counselor assists with the coordination of and attends all on‑campus recruiting events.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree with a preferred 1 year of experience working in an Admissions office or at a college campus. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint are required. Desire to learn TargetX SalesForce and our student information system (SIS) are required. A comfort level with public speaking is required. The work environment is an office setting that requires the ability to work odd shifts, travel up to 50% of the time by air or car, sit continuously at a computer, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
