Montreat College seeks an Admissions staff member focused on recruiting new students into specific programs and geographic regions. The role reports to the Director of Admissions and requires flexibility to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Meet enrollment goals through recruitment travel and on-campus events (afternoons/evenings/weekends as needed).
  • Generate inquiries and applications via follow-up contacts: calls, email, mailings, texts and visits.
  • Qualify leads and maintain current recruitment sources list.
  • Maintain CRM data and provide weekly status reports to the Director.
  • Supervise, train and mentor student workers on professionalism and CRM data entry.
  • Conduct campus tours and interviews for prospective students and families.
  • Assist with campus and recruitment events and special projects.
  • Travel within assigned areas and maintain a flexible schedule.

Position Summary

Montreat College seeks to be a leader in Christ-centered higher education regionally, nationally and globally. As such, there is a need for Admissions staff who are focused on the recruitment of new students within particular academic programs and geographic territories by implementing successful strategies that result in meeting aggressive application and enrollment goals with creativity, persistence, personal appeal, excellent service, and a compelling consistent message. Reports to: Director of Admissions. Responsibilities
  • Assist to meet or exceed new student enrollment goals annually (with a focus on non-athlete students) according to industry best-practices; for example: Arrange and execute recruitment travel throughout the school year representing the college and recruiting students at high schools, college fairs, conventions, churches, etc. (off-campus travel < 50%)
  • Generate new inquiries and applications through strategic and consistent follow-up contact with students and influencers via phone calls, email, mailings, app-based text messages, visits, etc.
  • Qualify leads and maintain a list of current and aspirational recruitment sources.
  • Help to maintain consistent, current contact records in recruitment database/CRM and provide weekly status reports.
  • Meet on a regular basis with the Director and other members of the admissions team to evaluate performance.
  • Assist in managing student workers who aid in achieving recruitment goals.
  • Supervise, train and mentor student workers on professionalism, phone & email etiquette, work schedules, campus tours and CRM data entry.
  • Conduct interviews and provide campus tours to prospective students, families and influencers during campus visits and events, as needed.
  • Assist management in assessing procedures and suggest ways to enhance the recruitment and enrollment process.
  • Maintain flexibility in working hours to include afternoons, evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Process and enter data for transcripts, standardized test scores and other application pieces in CRM.
  • Support on-campus, off-campus and virtual admissions events via preparation, execution and follow-up.
  • Assist with special campus events involving prospective students and their families.
  • Serve as a peer mentor for new recruiters.
  • Assist with miscellaneous departmental duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Admissions/recruiting/sales/customer service/marketing experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrate and articulate a personal Christian faith

  • Strong desire to promote Christ-centered higher education
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-performing, metrics-oriented environment
  • Ability to set and achieve individual goals connected to the mission/vision of the college and the department
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with a variety of individuals in a professional, courteous and tactful manner
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel within assigned areas
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, completing them accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, working some evenings and weekends
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic computer skills
