Job description

Responsible for performing registration, administrative, and clerical functions of the Admitting Department. Specific tasks vary by entity.

Responsibilities:
  1. Complete bedside registration thoroughly, review face sheet information for accuracy, and update errors in the referral system.
  2. Complete admission paperwork with the patient or proxy according to established procedures.
  3. Maintain, update, and provide referral information to inpatient units per standards.
  4. Manage patient electronic information via 4next and referral systems following guidelines.
  5. Verify demographic and insurance information and obtain signatures as per standards.
  6. Contribute to technology initiatives to improve the admissions process and meet department goals.
  7. Participate in additional department, organization, or network activities as per objectives.
  8. Uphold organizational values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.
Additional Responsibilities for Senior Admissions Associate:
  1. Provide facility tours to accurately represent organizational services.
  2. Coordinate between referral sources and the facility for timely referrals.
  3. Prepare reports based on entity conversion data to meet goals.
  4. Maintain the Access database for departmental needs.
Qualifications:
  • High School Graduation or GED required.
  • Associate's Degree preferred for Senior Admissions Associate.
  • Medical terminology experience preferred for Senior Admissions Associate.
  • Computer proficiency required; Microsoft Office skills preferred.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Preferred: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, proactive problem-solving, high service orientation, attention to detail.
