Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Ann Arbor, a Select Medical LTACH, is seeking an Admissions Coordinator for a full-time, on-site role. You will manage referral intake and patient admissions as part of the Business Development Team, coordinating with multiple departments to ensure a smooth admission process.

Ideal candidates have prior hospital/insurance experience and knowledge of medical terminology; experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hospital, physician practice or insurance environment.
• Knowledge of Medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Lead conversion calls with Business Development team each morning.
• Verify Medicare benefits and secondary plans for referred patients.
• Enter referral, admission, denial and conversion data in online systems.
• Ensure deficiencies remain at 0% to avoid holds and keep the hospital viable.
• Communicate relevant data to clinical liaisons, case managers, prior authorization team, and physicians.
• Coordinate admissions to guarantee equipment, medications and other necessities are ready.
• Physically admit patient, give a tour of the facility, and obtain signed consent to treat forms.
