Job summary

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation in Huntersville, NC seeks an Administrative and Clerical professional to support referrals intake, scheduling, and coordination with admissions, insurance verification, and authorization processes. Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in business or health care related field preferred.
• Related admissions and medical insurance work experience will be considered in place of degree
• Broad knowledge of medical terminology
• Proficient data entry and computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail
• Able to function in position with minimal supervision
• Effective and professional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Receives and responds to calls from referral sources and clients, and consults with leadership to determine capability to meet needs.
• Gathers data at referral intake and completes the Referral Intake Sheet.
• Coordinates with Admissions Manager/PM/DCM to assess referral appropriateness.
• Verifies benefits and discusses issues with Admissions Manager/PM/DCM.
• Staffs cases with team members and coordinates with Pre-Admission Screeners for authorizations.
• Sets up Pre-Admission Screen and initiates contact with funding sources for authorization.
• Maintains referral logs and updates staff on staffing and authorizations.
• Ensures timely start-of-care dates and coordination with payer and other parties.
• Obtains initial authorizations with Admissions Manager assistance and prepares notification letters.
• Communicates with internal and external parties to ensure complete and timely information flow.
• Completes startup paperwork and clinical packets; coordinates case openings with CCs.
• Ensures physician orders are in place before services start.
• Maintains contract binders and weekly staffing logs; assists with recruitment tracking.
• Performs miscellaneous office tasks and adheres to HIPAA and ethics programs.
