Texas A&M University-San Antonio is seeking an Admissions Coordinator I in the Office of Admissions. The role coordinates planning, development, implementation, and recruitment activities, reviewing applications and guiding prospective students through admission criteria and processes.

The successful candidate will communicate with applicants, assist with registration, generate reports, train student workers, and support data collection for research projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates with applicants regarding their admission status and coordinates with advisors and directors.
  • Assists with registration by evaluating documents required for admissions.
  • Develops and utilizes computer reports to obtain data and maintains office information systems.
  • Trains student workers and cross-trains for selected tasks with Managers.
  • Maintains an efficient filing system and provides information to students, faculty, and visitors.
  • Collects data and conducts research for schools and research projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Description

Coordinates the planning, development, implementation, and/or recruitment of program. Reviews and evaluates applications for degree and professional certification studies using test scores, transcripts, and specific criteria as guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Communicates with applicants regarding their admission status. Initiates communications with academic advisors and program directors about prospective and enrolled students so that screening and advising can be scheduled.
  • Assists with registration by evaluating documents required for admissions. Participates in campus information sessions.
  • Develops and utilizes computer reports in order to obtain data. Maintains a current manual for office and student information system operations.
  • Trains student workers for approved tasks and cross trains for selected tasks with Managers.
  • Maintains an efficient filing system, providing a source of information to students, faculty, and office visitors.
  • Collects data and conducts research for Schools and research projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Knowledge of functions of higher education.
  • Knowledge of recruitment and marketing.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to use technology to track and process students through Graduate School Admissions processes.
  • Ability to collect, write, and report various types of data sets.
