Guidehouse is seeking a Patient Access Representative for the Emergency Department at UAB St. Vincent's East in Trussville, AL. This onsite, full-time role schedules Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays, evenings hours, with up to 10% travel.

You will greet patients, register and check them in, verify insurance, collect demographics, handle Medicare documentation, and explain financial responsibilities while supporting training for new staff.

Formación

• High School diploma or GED; 2+ years in hospital, medical, or customer service environment preferred.
• 0-2+ years of experience working in a hospital, medical, clinical OR customer service environment.

Responsabilidades

• Greet patients and provide exceptional, compassionate customer service.
• Perform accurate registration, arrival, and check-in functions.
• Collect complete demographic and insurance information and obtain required patient signatures.
• Conduct real-time insurance eligibility and benefits verification.
• Explain financial responsibilities, collect patient portions, and perform cashiering/collections, referring to Financial Counseling when needed.
• Handle inpatient admission and observation admission processes, including network benefit verification and required Medicare documentation.
• Escalate complex registrations as appropriate.
• Mentor and precept new associates; assist with orientation and training.
• Consistently meet or exceed individual performance goals.
• Knowledge of all Federal, State, and Local Laws pertaining to insurance rules and regulations.
• Utilizes multiple computer systems.
• Other duties as assigned.

100% Onsite Full-Time

Schedule: Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday 6:00pm-6:30am

What You Will Do :

What You Will Need :

• 0-2+ years of experience working in a hospital, medical, clinical OR customer service environment

What Would Be Nice to Have :

• Ability to type a minimum of 35 WPM.
