Qualifications

• Experience scheduling in hospital settings or multi-physician offices preferred.
• Experience in hospital clerical work or physician offices preferred.
• Experience using EPIC is preferred.
• Additional two years of higher education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients for therapy in Epic per hospital policies.
• Addresses issues on Epic work queues daily to ensure a smooth workflow in the department.
• Obtains insurance verification for outpatient rehabilitation/post-acute care benefits and performs pre-certifications as required.
• Explains hospital regulations relative to charges and payments via telephone/fax.
• Performs various clerical duties such as filing, copying, and ordering supplies.
• Maintains communication between offsite clinics and trains staff on registration requirements and procedures.

• UT Health East Texas Rehabilitation Center includes a 48-bed inpatient hospital, 14 outpatient therapy clinics, 11 cardiopulmonary rehabilitation clinics and nine Olympic fitness centers, with access to some of the most advanced therapy techniques and care available.
